After the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall, volunteer American lawyers traveled to former Soviet Bloc countries to help usher in the transition to democracy and reform their legal systems. As global adherence to the rule of law has dangerously fallen in the last decade, two-time Academy Award winner Terry Sanders explores not just what caused the decline, but how we can preserve democracy and the rule of law into the future.
